Spec, design and implement BI solutions from data discovery and ETL to BI tool selection and design, testing and implementation. The typical architecture has been Tableau (ocassionally OBIEE) on MemSQL data sources in on big data in an AWS environment.

As a senior BI architect, I lead BI implementation tasks and projects for our clients in a multinational and multicultural environment involving several languages. I design and implement BI reports/dashboards in Tableau or OBIEE when needed but also provide architectural input to Database teams on data source design, MemSQL design and ETL transformation rules for the client’s BI requirements for a successful delivery. Our project teams usually consist of offshore developers, local solution architects from Europe and functional leads, owners from the US plus myself as a part lead driving the delivery, developing, testing and other project tasks like agile projects administration myself.

As a BusinessObjects Architect and BI lead, I joined the team during the Technical go-live and jumped into managing it right-away. We met our project toll-gate delivery milestones and went on to a successful go-live. During post-go live I managed the team of agents near shore and our offshore dba team plus emea GE business users requests and did all the weekly performance reporting for BI for the stakeholders and management. Managed specific reporting projects while also in the role of Architect and many times as a report creator as well.

GE Lighting embarked on a mission to integrate and modernize its ERP and BI system to make it a truly integrated global system supporting its operations world-wide. As part of the project legacy ERP such as SAP 3.2, and Oracle to be replaced by SAP ECC6 while the legacy BusinessObjects Data warehouse will be replaced by SAP Business Warehouse. The new infrastructure will be centralised and hosted in GE-s new data centre as part of a simplification project.

My role was consultant and reporting expert on the new ERP and BI project. Led new technology introduction by implementing demo Tableau dashboards for critical business reports and Analysis for Office reporting solutions acceptance in the finance organisation by the creation and delivery of SAP Analysis for Office reports and their corresponding SAP Business Warehouse structures (cubes, queries and multiproviders).
During this project I was also the Lead Architects and owner of GE Lightings legacy BI environment. This meant accessing incoming business request for new reports and solutions, prioritizing issues and tasks, manage local and offshore team members, weekly QMI reporting to stakeholders and providing quotations/prices, managing purchase orders and invoicing internal clients.

Johnson Controls decided to finalize a Global reporting package and while doing so it also became important that the solution should be a SOX compliant as well. Selected local reports were extended and elevated to the global package with proper access and authorisation schemes with version control and global report data refresh schedules.
Employee’s Roles & Responsibilities in the project:
As an iScala ERP consultant and Crystal Reports expert I joined the ERP and Reporting team to build and maintain Johnson Controls Global Reporting package. Took specifications for local reports and developed and delivered underlying data structures plus integration and testing with iScala ERP before managing acceptance and delivery for JC business users. Also I was responsible for the BI compliance for SOX when JC decided to go for SOX compliance of their ERP and BI environment and processes. This meant close and rigorous integration of the SOX processes with our Jira ITIL system when handling reports requests, maintenance and user authorisations for BI.
