WORK HISTORY & MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
OSCAR DATA : After nine years with Oracle I decided to go free-lance.
Oscar Data provides data quality management for enhanced sales and marketing systems.
Contracting clients : BMC, AFNOR, ACTUATE, OPEN MARKET, ODF, INSTRANET, EADS, NOVELL, LIBERTY SURF, WORLD ONLINE, MERCURY, PANDA SOFTWARE, EDG-Communications etc…
Due to strong restrictions in IT spending last year, I shifted my part of my CRM consulting towards day to day IT management in small and medium sized companies. This involves installing and maintaining Windows environnements, implement accounting and payroll systems. Networking and IP telephony have been part of the job in some projets.
ORACLE FRANCE (may 89/july 98)
Mid 89 Oracle Eduction hired me as a trainer.
After 2 years I joined the marketing departement to develop and implement a new sales and marketing system. During this assigment I also managed a taskforce of pre-sales people and consultants to create and maintain a customer reference system.
Subsequenly I helped on deals involving sales force automation. This comprised answering to requests for proposals, doing demos or working with VARS.
I joined the internal IT department in 95 to drive the implementation a worldwide customer & prospect database merge. The merge and purge involved 4 different databases totalling 70.000 addresses, 200.000 contacts, 1.5 million historised mailings per year, 4000 events and 120.000 seminar enrolments. This project comprised sophisticated barcoding and permanent data quality control. I worked with all major data providers and supervised contractors working on deduplication. Data acquisition and cleaning budgets averaged 300.000 FF per year.
For the last twelve months I concentrated on datawarehousing and datamining with decision trees. From the functionnal point of view a acquired a good understanding of Oracle Financials .
MICHEL PARIS MAILLES (MPM) in Vaison-La-Romaine (june 86 / may 88)
MPM is the exclusive designer and manufacturer of YVES SAINT LAURENT knitware.
As an analyst programmer I developed an inhouse ERP application using 4th dimension for the macintosh. Intially targetted at 4 users the project’s scope changed radically after one year involving more than 25 users. We then started to look for a fully integrated manufacturing package. I benchmarked different solutions and took part in the negotiations. During the final stage of this assigment I worked on gap analysis and future enhancements with the external software house. I also trained internal staff on the different modules. During this period I did different freelance jobs in partnership with the local macintosh distributor in Avignon. I provided consultancy for 3 hospitals, a wine-grower and a 4 star camping.
IBM ( distributor in Avignon) (Jan 86 / Apr 86)
Pre-sales consultant. I met this small start-up company in Avignon through my previous job as a food and beverage manager where I supervised the implementation of a stock and purchasing system. Unfortunately the company went bankrupt very shortly after I joined. It was nevertheless a unique opportunity to learn a lot about information technology and sales techniques in the high-tech industry.
On the road and my years in Provence.
Between 1980 and 1986 I held different positions in the hotel and tourist business. As a travel company representative I worked for two years in Bulgaria and managed a team of three guides. Multi-tasking was a key feature.
After my move from the black sea coast to the mediterranean, I held seasonal jobs in top class hotels and acted for 12 months as a food and beverage manager in a holiday resort. During this assigment I supervised the automation of the purchase departement.
Above all, I enjoyed renovating a country house with scenic outlook on the Mont Ventoux !
