I was part of the Infrastructure BI team. I was responsible for the installation of applications
in Acceptance and Production environments. The applications were functional BS200
applications where the technology was COBOL. I also managed and maintained Job Control
Language (JCL). Apart from the installation, maintenance of the applications, resolution of
problems, incident management, analysis of issues, performance tuning and giving support to
the development team when needed, the role also involved documentation of the process,
best practices, etc. Working in an operational environment meant that I had to be flexible
and stress resistant with continuous improvement in mind.
