Duties:
Initiated and managed large projects to migrate from production, RDBMS systems from SQL, Oracle 7, 8i and 9i to Oracle 10g real application cluster:
• Played a key role in the design and setup of the new Oracle RAC/ Dataguard/ Oracle Advanced queuing environment whilst adhering to industry standards and best practises.
• Ensured the production Oracle RAC services were appropriately maintained, performance tuned and continuously available.
• Ensured an appropriate backup/recovery strategy was put in place.
• Setup and maintained database replication for high availability and reporting, logical and physical dataguard.
• Researched, tested and implemented a monitoring and administration system of Oracle Grid control
• Performed Competency transfer to system and database administrators.
• Communicated orally and in writing within an international context(Bermuda, Miami, Bangalore, London)
• Maintained the current production systems which comprised Oracle 7 OPS, 8i card issuing processing, 9i clearing processing and SQL E-banking.
