As a Senior Consultant for Oracle Corporation (UK),

I worked on many client projects as a specialist in Oracle Financial Analyser (OFA) and Oracle Express (now known as Oracle OLAP), and was also trained in Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) and Datawarehousing.
Lloyds TSB. Lead consultant in developing the OFA model for the General Efficiency Program (GEP). This project collected and consolidated Project Business Cases, and allowed forecast revisions and monitoring against actuals.
GE Capital Insurance Holdings. Lead consultant for a new OFA implementation for Budgeting, Planning and Management Reporting. Multiple currencies were supported for data entry and reporting.
Jarvis plc. Lead Consultant developing the Cost Value Reconciliation system, built within a very tight deadline by a team of up to 4 consultants. Many of the client’s requirements, such as a hierarchical approval mechanism, required customisations.
Other clients included Post Office Counters Ltd, Unilever, Aggregate Industries, Sainsburys, Freemans, Allders, Cap Gemini, Alliance and Leicester, GE Capital European Equipment Finance, GE Consumer Finance, ntl, Direct Line.
For some of these projects, such as Unilever and Jarvis, I was Project Manager with responsibility for delivering completed systems within very tight deadlines, leading small teams of very technical Oracle Consultants. At Unilever, the OFA project was a Europe-wide implementation for managing Budgets and Forecasts at plant level. At Jarvis, the project was a customised implementation to consolidate Cost Value Reconciliation data, and ensure appropriate authorisation at different levels of the management hierarchy.
Operating Systems for these Oracle-based projects have included HP Unix, Sun Solaris, Microsoft NT Server, DEC Alpha, Sequent Dynix.

Team sizes depended on the projects undertaken, but normally varied between 2 and 8.
As a Senior Analyst Programmer for Tesco Stores Ltd

I worked initially as an Information Centre Analyst, supporting the earliest introductions of Personal Computers to Tesco Head Office. I then moved to the IT Development division to work on Finance Systems, and this included several multi-dimensional database systems, for example for analysing the profitability of projected new store developments, and for planning and forecasting Profit and Margin at the level of the individual store by Month.
