Context

Bayestra is an AI-powered M&A and strategy advisory firm based in Paris. Its analysts assess potential acquisitions from every angle that matters to a buyer, using Bayestra's own proprietary methods. The ambition is to deliver in-depth analysis that takes a traditional deal team weeks, for every buyer and every target on the table.

To support its growth, Bayestra is automating its internal analysis workflows and is looking for a senior freelance engineer to lead this project.

Your mission

• Design the architecture of the automated workflows and choose the tools and frameworks.

• Build data and document pipelines in Python, combining deterministic code with language-model calls.

• Integrate financial and market data APIs.

• Automate the reading and production of Excel, Word and PowerPoint documents.

• Put in place automated testing, documentation and sound engineering practices.

• Work closely with the in-house team and transfer knowledge so they can run and extend the solution.

Profile

Must have

• 5+ years of professional Python development, with a track record of designing and delivering data or document pipelines end to end.

• Hands-on experience with large language models in production: structured outputs, prompt management, evaluation, cost and error handling.

• Experience automating Excel, Word or PowerPoint files from code.

• Strong engineering discipline: automated tests, version control, code review.

• Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders and a taste for knowledge transfer.

• Proven experience integrating financial or market data APIs.

• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Background in finance, M&A, private equity or consulting.

• Experience with document-management and collaboration platforms.
