Deputy Solution Data Factory Director

General mission

Act as the right hand (deputy) of the Solution and Data Factory Director, driving the delivery of the data roadmap end-to-end, challenging both business stakeholders and technical teams, and helping structure the Data function within our customer’s IT organization. The role combines strong hands-on technical/data expertise with the drive, structure, and communication skills needed to grow into a future data management role.

Main Activities

• Drive and own end-to-end delivery of data projects, ensuring technical rigor, deadlines, and business value.
• Act as deputy to the Data Domain Manager on data-flow related topics, ensuring continuity in their absence.
• Challenge business stakeholders on requirements to ensure feasibility, priority, and real business value.
• Challenge and support the data engineering/analytics teams on technical choices, standards, and delivery quality — relieving the Data Analytics Leader from day-to-day delivery pressure.
• Act as Tech Lead for the data platform, staying hands-on across ingestion, transformation, and data infrastructure topics.
• Structure and formalize data delivery processes, ways of working, and governance.
• Contribute to data architecture, standards, and best practices across the domain.
• Bridge industrial/business issues (OT and industrial data) with IT/data solutions.
• Support and mentor junior data profiles, preparing the ground for future managerial responsibilities.

Skills

• Strong data engineering/technical background with a genuine hands-on, “do-it-all” mindset.
• Real passion for data and technical depth, comfortable across the data stack (ingestion, pipelines, platform, data modelling).
• Driven, structured, and able to lead delivery strong project/delivery management mindset.
• Excellent communication skills able to credibly challenge both business and technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of industrial/OT (Operational Technology) data environments is a strong plus.
• Ambitious and eager to grow into a managerial role over time.
• Young managers or first-time managers may be considered if they demonstrate a strong technical track record.
• Team player, able to relieve senior leadership by taking full ownership of delivery topics.

Technical Environment 

• Key technologies and platforms used within the Data Domain:
• Microsoft Fabric (MS Fabric) – unified data analytics platform.
• SAP Datasphere – business data fabric / data warehousing.
• Azure iPaaS – integration platform as a service for data/application flows.
• SAP S/4HANA (SAP S/4) – core ERP / source system.

Education & Experience

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data/Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in data-related roles (data engineering, data analytics, technical delivery), ideally with exposure to industrial/OT data.
• Profile expected to be more hands-on/“doer”-oriented than a senior Head of Data profile, while demonstrating strong potential and ambition to move into management within the next few years.
