Responsibility:
• day-to-day functional administration tasks, as well as application-specific technical support.

• On hand experience on Solaris OS installation using jumpstart, Configuration and troubleshooting.

• Creating users under different groups, Working with Files and Directories & regular trouble shooting, server and client related problems.

• Password configurations, Disk management, process monitoring, Boot up and Shutdown procedures.

• Recommended Sun OS kernel/OBP patch upgrade for production/development servers.

• Maintaining the regular backups using tar, ufsdump,ufsrestore,Snap shot backup etc.

• Configuring SWAP,NFS servers and clients with AutoFS and NIS, Syslog messages.

• Configuring the services for sharing the resources from Unix such as remote login through TELNET, FTP.

• Checking alert logs and trace files. File System maintenance, performance tuning.

• System error and performance analysis with tools like Explorer, sun-checkup, core dumps and ATS Resolution Methods.

• Printer and Package Administration and Providing the organization with complete Internet and intranet facilities, Perception in system Trouble Shooting and Knowledge in System hardware and maintenance.

• Providing 24x7 Sun hardware and software support for workstations, entry- and middle- range servers, storage products and the Solaris Operating Environment.
