Operational Security Officer IBM Z

As part of the organization's effort to strengthen the security of its IBM Mainframe Z Series infrastructure, we are looking for a Senior Operational Security Officer with deep technical and functional expertise. The consultant will work within the Security Operations team, contributing to the security posture improvement, vulnerability assessments, and compliance enforcement specific to mainframe environments.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Perform security assessments and detailed audits of IBM Z Series systems (OS configuration, middleware, network).
• Define, maintain, and enforce security policies and standards for IBM Z (RACF, zSecure, ICSF, etc.).
• Support incident response in IBM Mainframe environments (forensics, containment, RCA).
• Build and manage RACF access control structures, including onboarding and decommissioning applications.
• Create and maintain security monitoring dashboards and reports using zSecure and Syslog.
• Lead risk mitigation strategies, ensuring integration with enterprise-level identity (SSO, PKI, AD, LDAP, APIs).
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and projects requiring IBM Z-specific security inputs.
• Contribute to security awareness training related to IBM Mainframe.
• Continuously assess new vulnerabilities, threats, and solutions (patching, configuration, architecture).

🛠️ Technical Environment:

• IBM Z Series, z/OS, USS
• Security tools: RACF, zSecure, CARLA, ICSF, Syslog
• Protocols & identity: AD, LDAP, PKI, Kerberos, SSH, SSL
• API integration, digital certificates
• SSO and privileged access management
• Compliance & standards related to IBM Z security
• Security certifications (IBM Certified Administrator – z/OS Security, etc.) are a plus

🎯 Profile Requirements:

✅ Minimum 8 years of experience in IT Security, including hands-on IBM Mainframe security

✅ Expertise in RACF architecture and management

✅ Strong practical skills in zSecure (reporting, policy validation, alerts)

✅ Working knowledge of USS (Unix System Services)

✅ Familiarity with identity federation, SSO, APIs, and PKI in IBM Mainframe contexts

✅ Analytical skills with ability to investigate complex mainframe security issues

✅ Fluent in English (written & spoken); able to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
