Define the technology roadmap, standards and processes for WFP.org
The technology lead is tasked defines a technology strategy that will enable the implementation of the web strategy in a secure, well documented and scalable manner. This entails defining and communicating the standards and processes, guiding technology development (including development and release cycles), writing clear and concise documentation and ensuring that all improvements and new products are developed in compliance with these standards.

Working closely with relevant team members, the technology lead develops new features and functionalities for WFP.org. He ensures that they are properly implemented, tested and maintained.
Ensure the interoperability of WFP.org with other systems used in WFP
The technology leads is responsible for regularly liasing with OMI on all issues pertaining to information and data exchange between WFP.org and various enterprise systems such as the project database, the contact database and others.
Keep the infrastructure up to date.
From a Drupal standpoint, he makes sure that the latest security patches and upgrades are applied in a timely manner. From a hosting standpoint, he liaises with relevant parties (OMI and UNICC) to make sure we have the maximum up-time and that backup and recovery processes are in place and respected. The lead also manages and supports the relationship with third party hosting vendors.
Manage technology vendors and consultants
Develop work plans and deliverables, provide coordination and support for consultants and vendors hired by WFP to perform technology related tasks on WFP.
Innovation and forward thinking
The Lead frequently brings new ideas to the table on how to do things better, suggests emerging technologies WFP could benefit from and stays abreast of the latest developments in the online publishing, fundraising and community industries.
