PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Project name STIB : Incoming Mail Workflow
Company (employer) ATOS VIA ALTRAN
Dates (start-end) July 2009 – February 2010
Client (customer) STIB - Brussels
Project description
Analysis of the whole “Incoming Mail” process. Production of a Functional Analysis document describing the business flow from the moment physical and digital mails arrive in the company until the moment when they reach the appropriate responsible, are stored and processed.
The second part of the project consisted in implementing this business process using Documentum Webtop, Documentum Forms Builder and Docuentum Process Builder.
The great challenge here was that there had to be as few customisations as possible. Configuration was always preferred to development when it was doable.
Responsibilities in the project
• Functional Analysis of the “Incoming Mail” business process: meet the key users of the future application, understand the current process and translate into a Functional Specifications document. Had to go through several iterations to reach a consensus between all key users.
• Implementation of the Incoming Mail business process on the Documentum 6.5 platform using mainly the following tools: Documentum Webtop 6.5, Documentum Administrator 6.5, Documentum Forms Builder 6.5 and Documentum Process Builder 6.5. The main challenge here was that the workflow had to be implemented using as few customisations as possible. Configuration always had to be preferred over development of new features. The Implementation of the process was accomplished through several “iterations” that were presented to key users and adapted to their needs. Performed several demos to the key users.
• Investigation of whether Documentum TaskSpace 6.5 could solve some issues we experienced in using Webtop 6.5 with Process Builder 6.5. This part of the project did not allow any conclusion as it was abandoned.
• When the user acceptance phase was reached, prepared user acceptance scenarios and gave training on how to use the application to the key users.
Technologies and methodologies used in the project
