Carrefour operates mainly in Europe, China, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and in the Dominican Republic, but also has shops in North Africa and other parts of Asia.

The project Implementation of a BI Cognos solution

Tasks In the context of an implementation of decisional systems base for the company, Snecma Motors chose the solution Analytic Applications from Cognos, adapted for the ERP BAAN and commercialized by SSA Global. The goal was to improve the performance of the steering of the business and to optimize the production costs and the release of decisional information (offer an easy rapid and powerful access to information via multidimensional analysis, and to automate the production and allow a diffusion via the Web for reporting states), notably for the General Accounts and the Management Control.
• Feeding of a DataWareHouse, modeling and implementation of a database for the production of the indicator « Turnover » :
• Creation and update of Decision Stream flows,
• Creation of a cube model on PowerPlay Transformer and Generation of the cube on Unix,
• Development of reports on PowerPlay Web with an access to detail (drill through) developed on ReportStudio,
• Writing of technical specifications, user documents and training of users.
This project allowed me to acquire an excellent knowledge of all Cognos tools suite. From the ETL right to the final reports and passing by the definition and the carrying out of the analysis cubes for a client which did not possess an existing decisional system and where all was to be implemented and put in place. I equally had the chance to manage a team of junior consultants.

In May 1980, the society was renamed Valeo, which means “I am well” in Latin.
The project Development of an analysis and monitoring tool of the order activity

Tasks Definition and implementation of a Visual Basic tool for the monitoring and analysis of activity linked to a portfolio of Valeo orders. Automation of queues, controlling and output of documents (control and analysis states). Application deployed for the whole of the Group (200 sites, 350 users).
