Design and/or sourcing and/or manufacturing, then experimentation/testing of plenty of devices, sensors, prototypes & systems, like whole rack flow rate measurement using magnetic flow sensors, current leak sensors, ‘without rotor’ wind speed sensors, water leak detection systems, fan speed control systems, fan failure detection systems, smart fans (…)
Manufacturing of an “UV – Oven” for prototyping with resin photopolymerization 3D printers, just to save time, instead of waiting the expected on the shelf product, not yet available when we needed it.

Environment:
ATMega microcontrollers, RS232, RS485, UART, One Wire, I2C protocols, Python, C, Raspberry PI & Arduino prototyping, 3D design (sketchup) & prototypes printing (wire deposit or laser stereolithography), Electronics design & “lab” experimentations including around water behaviour & thermal exchanges (climate lab), PCB design, data storage in a datalake via OpenTSDB, data visualization (Grafana to begin with). Physical measurements, sensors “chasing” on B2B & B2C markets. Close collaboration with the PCB manufacturers & other OVH’s teams on an high-speed iterations loop.

Innovative Contributions :
-Design of an highly-scalable rack monitoring box (can plug up to 256 sensors for each rack), for our 400k servers
-Design, manufacturing, industrialization, patenting & deployment of a metering device for monitoring of cooling fluid circuits
-Design of a PCB allowing smart fans implementation, remotely driven from IIOT + IPMI data sources correlations

Other global knowledge about datacenter building & operation :
Servers & racks manufacturing (from bare metal to connected clusters), watercooling systems manufacturing & operation from end to end, HVAC, resilient power management & distribution, basic fluid mechanics learnings (free cooling, adiabatic cooling, evaporative cooling, mechanical cooling)

Innovative Contributions :
As the accountable party of the IT parts of this large scale project (candidate to worldwide replication after France) it was an opportunity to initiate the creation of “OT” standards for the Group, like IT-OT standard connectors, or Electrical supply standards extended from production to "IT Hardware chain" from ROC* to DCSs.

Project: Implementation of a Contract Management System for PERNIS (NL) Cogeneration power plant

first specialized in manufactured products, but generics by design as it can handle mulitple compagnies / languages / currencies / units / kind of products, all standard ERP invoicing flows as well as configurable workflow.
Building of the Gencoders' Home made “High Factorized” Framework, used for ERP product as well as SCADA product.

Project: SEND «Sat. Exchange Network Driver» TV Contribution network over Sat linking 6 TV Channels / ilsands
 Design & build of a Softare solution to drive an IP over Sat network, and to share high volume video files
 Contrôl of IPTV Encoders & Decoders for Broadcast/Multicast setup (Live)
 Design & rollout of the system until one “nodal” TV Station can contrôl the network, but allowing any partial Satellite outage, including the nodal point, so if only 2 stations are online, any of them can take the contrôl of the “still alive stations” of the system.

What i'm proud of:
Design & build of the delivery optimization module, wich added very valuable feature to our ERP offer, on a personnal idea to create that system based on - at that time - new Geocoding / routing Google Maps APIs.
Integration at multiple levels inside the complex ERP/MES/SCADA solution, up to 1000 screens, more than 1000 SQL tables.

4 years : Software Architect – Developer (R&D)

Project: Team work to design the new OOP architecture of our product, and migration / re-coding
 Self-learning & team brainstorming on OOP concepts like hierarchisation, in-bundling, legacy, le polymorphism
 Migration of the whole project while continuing daily production

2 Month : Project Manager - Developer (Client : NATSTEEL HOLDINGS, Singapore - Group TATA)

Project: Management of the implementation on site of our product in a « n-tier» context (Singapore larger plant)
 Travels to Singapore, centralization of all communications between NSH and ARMAPLUS
 Devloppment of many import/export interfaces, including SAP and NSH home-made tools, in collaboration with TATA SAP experts

Learnings:
Step back required for positionning our product in a global functional approach integrating all IT systems belonging to the (complex) chain of value of our customer.

2 years : Project Manager - Developer (Client : SOUTHERN STEEL, Malaysia)

Project: Management of the implementation on site of our product for 7 plants
 Conception and programming of a weighbridge system (receptions & sales weight contrôl, sales on weighed weight)
 Conception of a generic connector, wich can be setup for any RS232/485 machine, used for the weighing system
 Realisation of the “real-time” Stock inventory module (6 month)
o Mobile component to scan barcodes in plants & stock deposits
o Office component for the master user to get real-time tracking the found tags, and optimize operators round

Responsabilities evolution:
Conception was done in a close loop with few plant's operators, with live mockups design.
Of course we then turned to a more AGILE loop, but after few month we get an exceptionnal user-fit due to this collaborative design.
After this 1st achievement, step-in as the Project Manager for this project, with up to 6 month onsite.

2 month : Developer (Code Factorization & Cost optimization for Recurent specific devloppments)

Project: Programming import/export interfaces for Quotations, Orders, Invoices & Payments

 R&D on the potential productivity gain that we can get, doing “Generic” interfaces instead of “Tailor-made” one shot interfaces
 Implementation of Reading & Writing features, can handle SQL, TXT, XML, XLS formats
 Devloppment of a “hidden” access for interface configuration during software rollout, with the existing “user” access, as a totally transparent internal optimization
