Compin is a railway Tear 1 Supplier which provide FRP and GRP composite components. Having established a JV with a Chinese factory in 2008, they've hired me in order to develop a design office for Chinese market as well as low cost support for Compin Group.
Tasks are the following:
- Create and develop a Design Engineering Department (using CATIA V5) in Qingdao factory, and manage the current technical project (AutoCAD) with the team on site.
- Manage projects from starting up to "ok for manufacturing"
- Product design according to customers' requirement
- Relation with the purchasing department for all the parts which have been designed
- Participation to product quotation
- Responsible for the 3D design tool
- Responsible for the quality system (creation and implementation) within the design department
- Daily management of the design team, organization, motivation, training,
- Develop design activity for SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound) engineering
- Link between the head quarter in France and the factory in Qingdao (China)

Design of the private jet LEGACY 450-500's RUDDER (working with ENOVIA)
Concept sections
Digitalization in order to validate all concepts with Embraer during monthly virtual visualization meeting
After the validation of all tolerance chains, Create the Interface Control Drawings (ICD)
Refine the design and modify all composite parts (weight saving) for the Preliminary Design Review (PDR).

2004 to 2008 I.DE.A Institute - CATIA V5 Shanghai China
• ZOTYE HOLDING GROUP (Chinese car maker): AUTOMOTIVE
Design support on the last SUV model.
Team leader of 8 engineers: responsible of the engineering feasibility and support to the design in order to build the CAS following all the Chinese vehicles regulations, transfer it to the clay model supplier.

• YUTONG BUS (bus producer) :
Design support on all the new line a bus.
Project leader: engineering feasibility of the complete new line of Yutong bus in order to build the CAS following all the Chinese regulations.

• BOSCH AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS (China):
Cost engineering with potential supplier’s audits.
Project manager: Cost engineering project of a wiper system to replace the complex parts imported from Germany (build a database, visit and audit the potential local new suppliers).

• CHANGAN AUTO (Chinese car maker):
BIW welding points 2D drawing creation.
Project leader: Hire a team, and create the welding points drawings for the whole body of the new model “Ben Ben” (CV6).
- Exhibitions (Auto Show Shanghai 2005-2007) and conferences contribution.
- Build a database of the global Chinese car market.
- Project leader: Creation of an internal project: Hybrid bicycles (muscle/electric power) with aerodynamic plastic cover, using a complete car engineering process.
Contribution for the laying out of the new design office in Shanghai.

2002 to 2004 EDAG - CATIA V4 Shanghai China
• SHANGHAI VOLKSWAGEN: AUTOMOTIVE
Passat GT (Lingyu):
Study of full option complete rear seat with a DVD player integrated in the armrest and a DVD/CD box integrated in the seat.
Responsible of the project management, concepts study and digitalization, as well as the coordination between the customer (I was working on site) and the suppliers until the SOP.
Santana 3000:
Digitalization of various plastic interior parts.
Digitalization of the door panel and pillars, follow up of the project with the tool supplier (25% on Johnson Control’s site) for the mold building phase.
Welding spot drawings:
Create all the assembly sequences and the welding spots position drawings of the BIW.

Study of the rear seat and weight saving propositions.

Study, feasibility, concept sections, digitalization until the serial production.

• SEAT – dashboard (SEAT Leon):
Modification of the dashboard’s insert for weight saving.

• DONNELLY – front seat headrest insert (Renault Laguna):
New concept validation, digitalization until the serial production.

• RENAULT – exterior rearview mirrors (Renault VelSatis, laguna, and Avantime):
Rearview mirrors study, concept sections and digitalization.
