PWC: Involved from the start in the most important dot com venture. Betrusted.com was a green field project with an initial budget of $50 millions aiming to deliver certificate authority services similar to VERISIGN.
• To provide an inter-continental resilience for the services, we have been asked to build 2 new data centres one in the USA and the other in the UK. The maximum fail over time we targeted was 60 minutes. Numerous points were keep secrets on purpose all along the project making the analysis a real challenge.
• Proposed an initial Design and Architecture covering the whole Data Centre infrastructure: room layout, storages, servers, software integration, network and security and all core infrastructure services.
• Presented the resource planning, timeline, issues & risks associated along with the full deployment strategy to the board to gain the sign off.
• Recruitment and lead a team of 7 I.T. specialists in the U.K. and US.
• Managed 250 man/day of detailed design and implementation strategy in London during 3 months.
• Assisted my client in preparing the final negotiation phase with the hardware software vendors and the service providers (ASP and ISP).
• Full data centre build: EMC with SRDF, DNS, jumpstart, N.T.P., SSH, Netbackup interfaced BCV, databases and business software integration: back up, fail over, security and tuning. LAN, Firewall.
